A very nice selection Michael and while I can’t yet identify the 550, the middle picture shows Barth in the factory eight cylinder Porsche-engined Elva MkVII. Taken at the June 1964 meeting where Barth claimed FTD, the car was already available with a flat-four Porsche option but the flat-eight was installed by Porsche specifically for the 1964 European Hill Climb Championship. However, Barth had other ideas despite his victory, not finding the brakes and handling to his liking and returning to his eight cylinder 718 for the rest of the season to take the championship again.
